About
The company
Flex is a rent-payment platform used by renters across the US to split their rent into smaller, more manageable payments.
My role
I owned the property-facing product area. My work covered designing 0→1 tools for property managers and independent property owners, improving existing workflows across web and mobile, and establishing the foundations of the design system these products relied on.

Flex's Property Hub
Flex’s original model relied on integrations with large property management companies, but without a property-facing interface, teams had no visibility into resident activity, couldn’t answer resident questions, and often relied on Flex support – creating operational friction as we scaled.
To address this, I led the design of Flex’s first Property Hub — a platform that gives property teams real-time visibility into resident payments, enables them to self-serve common workflows, and provides clear insights into Flex adoption and impact across their portfolio.
The Hub is now used across Flex’s partner network (~50,000 properties).

We introduced real-time payment statuses and deposit details to give property teams the visibility they need to answer resident questions and manage operations without relying on Flex support.

Flex for independant property owners
Next, our goal was to expand Flex to support renters with independent property owners.
This work required establishing a consumer-initiated invite flow and defining how the consumer and property experiences connect into one coherent journey.
I led the design direction for the initiative and partnered closely with designers on the consumer team, who executed the consumer-facing surfaces.
On the property side, I designed the end-to-end experience for independent property owners – reviewing renter invites, onboarding to Flex, connecting their bank account, and tracking payments.
